ABOUT US

Rudy

Rudy Cordeiro is a native of the Washington D.C. area, but he and his family have resided in South Carolina for the past seven years. Rudy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sacred music and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Music Education.

He has studied piano as his principal instrument, and plays the violin as well. Rudy began teaching piano back in college when his own piano instructor needed a male teacher for her son. Since then, Rudy has taught students of all ages but has found in niche with teens, especially encouraging young men who enjoy making music. He has had the privilege of teaching music both privately and in the classroom for over twenty years, and his greatest desire is to help students discover the joy of music and to express themselves through that music. With older students, he aims to prepare them for studying music on the collegiate level.

Rudy is an avid fan of Brazil’s national soccer team, and he enjoys reading, writing music, and spending time with his family. Rudy has been a choir and orchestral director in three different private schools and is currently also teaching in another studio in a neighboring county. Rudy teaches piano, all of the orchestral string instruments, and some classical guitar. Currently, Rudy and Rachel serve with their music in their church, Morgan Valley Church.

Rachel

Rachel grew up in the home of a Music Educator, Todd Scovill, who taught music on the Secondary and collegiate levels. She began playing the piano at age 5 and received private piano instruction for a total of fifteen years. During college, she also took several music courses to help strengthen her piano skills and musical development. She is currently working to complete a Certificate in Piano Pedagogy.

Rachel enjoys reading, cooking, playing volleyball, playing piano for her church (Morgan Valley Church), and spending time with Rudy and their four children, Cami, Lucas, Sophia, and Grace.
